Build a fan occasion around the film programme

Cinesa Room combines a film programme with hosted participation and a distinctive occasion. Smaller cinemas can test the idea with one evening and a local collaborator.

The idea

Give a defined group a reason to choose an event together by designing what happens around the films as carefully as the films themselves.

Evidence

Cinesa’s venue partner at Puerto Venecia advertises an eight-film horror marathon from 10:00 on 31 October to approximately 03:00 on 1 November, with discussion, podcast, mentalism and quiz content relayed from Madrid. Launch reporting describes Cinesa Room as a programme of limited cultural events, with six Spanish cinemas advertised for the first edition and further events intended roughly quarterly. The reported ten-year cinema prize belongs specifically to the Príncipe Pío survival game in Madrid.

Operator takeaway

The useful question is whether a distinctive occasion, a host and participation can make a cinema visit more attractive to a particular community. An event can be worthwhile without reproducing the length or prize budget of this launch.

Try this

Co-design one evening with a local film society, podcast or specialist community. Start with one or two films, one hosted activity and a clearly priced package. Agree screening rights, contributor fees, staff cover and what participation involves. Ask attendees which part of the event mattered and offer a relevant next occasion. Keep any capacity claim factual; do not manufacture scarcity.

Measure

Measure attendance against capacity, new or reactivated customers, contribution after rights and delivery costs, consented follow-up, and return to another screening within 30 to 60 days. Record whether attendance came from existing fans or genuinely new visitors.

Watch out for

This is an announced format, with no verified event outcome as at 30 October. Full ticket and prize terms have not been independently verified. Guest appearances at each venue, prize eligibility and any international expansion need separate confirmation. The evidence does not establish stronger demand or repeat visits among younger audiences.

Operator and timing

Cinesa, Spain. Launch presentation reported 28 October 2026; first Horror Edition advertised for 31 October into 1 November 2026. Added to the 26 October edition in the 30 October editorial review. Sources reviewed 30 October 2026.

What each source establishes

The Puerto Venecia listing is the venue partner’s own announcement of the local marathon: its timings, the eight films, the content relayed from Madrid and a recommended age of 16+. That recommendation is a local listing, not a circuit-wide admissions rule, and the wider programme’s youth positioning does not make this horror edition suitable for children. The two launch reports are trade journalism from the 28 October presentation; they describe the overall Cinesa Room format, the six cinemas and the intended quarterly rhythm. CIA could not inspect Cinesa’s own ticket and prize terms, so ticket prices and detailed prize rules are not reproduced here.

Resources

A curator and host, contributor agreements, a manageable running order, a technical rehearsal, clear guest and participation information, and a costed staffing plan.
