Turn a screening into a shared fan event
Shared participation and selected foyer activities can give fans more to do together. Match the experience to the event rights, venue and staffing.
Published 30 October 2026
The idea
Make the venue a meeting place for fans by defining how audiences can take part around the screen content.
Evidence
HYBE’s official notice describes concert films, live or delayed viewings and a cheering-party format in which fans can sing and cheer. Selected special locations offer activities such as photo zones, messages, light-stick decoration and merchandise. Its amendment cancels the São Paulo special-location event and changes the Mexico City Oasis Coyoacán format. These amendments take precedence over the older location list lower on the same page.
Operator takeaway
The audience experience depends on clear expectations: which screenings welcome participation, what happens in the foyer and which activities are available locally. A smaller venue can select one manageable element.
Try this
Choose an event where participation is permitted and suits the audience. Add one staffed photo or message area, or a short fan-hosted introduction. Explain rules before purchase, including sound, recording and permitted accessories. Keep circulation routes clear and make one person responsible for communicating changes. Agree any merchandise rights and responsibility for stock before offering products.
Measure
Record attended capacity, activity use, merchandise and concession contribution, staff time, service problems and later cinema visits. Count activity participation separately from ticket sales.
Watch out for
No cinema-level attendance, incremental spending or repeat-visit results are supplied. Selected-site activity is not universal. The São Paulo amendment concerns the special-location event; it does not establish that every screening in the city was cancelled.
Operator and timing
HYBE, with partner cinemas internationally. Announced cinema locations include South Korea, Germany, Mexico, Thailand and Malaysia. Main cinema programme advertised for 24 to 31 October 2026; individual associated pop-ups have different dates. Sources reviewed 30 October 2026.
Resources
Rights-holder coordination, a local host, front-of-house space, clear behaviour rules and a process for notifying changes.
