Give families a fixed cinema time and one simple price

A short run of family screenings makes the offer easy to remember. Test whether a predictable slot brings households back beyond the promotion.

Operator Briefing

The idea

Make a family visit easy to plan by repeating the same time and price across a short programme.

Evidence

Monzón council and Circuit Urgellenc announced four different family films at Cine Victoria, each at 16:30 on a Saturday for €3 per ticket: 24 and 31 October, then 7 and 14 November. The announcement follows venue improvements. Its separate figures — more than 1,300 people at a film the previous weekend and over €60,000 of works — relate to earlier reopening activity and investment, not results of the family offer.

Operator takeaway

The practical opportunity is a recognisable appointment that a household can plan around. A time-limited programme also gives the cinema a manageable test before deciding whether to continue.

Try this

Choose four consecutive weeks and vary the films while keeping the screening time, eligibility and headline price clear. Agree any partner contribution and film terms before advertising. Make the whole programme easy to find and recommend the next screening at the end of each visit. Price the pilot against its likely contribution, including any subsidy, rather than assuming a low ticket price is self-funding.

Measure

Record paid admissions, occupancy, new and returning households where identifiable, average concession contribution, support received and household return within 60 days. Compare with similar family sessions and record title differences.

Watch out for

No attendance or return-visit results for the four-screening pilot are supplied. Film choice and reopening publicity may affect demand independently of the price. Record these factors before deciding whether the programme deserves a permanent place in the schedule.
