Build a local film season with partners and audience choice
Combine partner curation, audience choice and a local activity in a short season. Test which elements bring people across the programme.
Published 2 November 2026
The idea
Give people several connected reasons to engage with a local cinema season, while keeping each component easy to understand.
Evidence
OnFife advertises Peacock Cinema’s autumn return in partnership with Dunfermline Regeneration Trust, supported by Film Hub Scotland. The programme included a Samizdat screening on 30 October, an audience-choice screening on 31 October, a free burial-ground walk on 1 November, and a director Q&A elsewhere in the season. Listed cinema tickets are £6 for adults and £5 for concessions and children. The walk was separately ticketed.
Operator takeaway
A shared local theme can connect specialist partners with people who might first engage through a different activity. Each component needs a clear route to the next relevant screening.
Try this
Plan three or four screenings with one programming partner. Let audiences choose one title from a rights-cleared shortlist, and pair one event with a suitable local activity. Give each event its own booking and access information. Agree who hosts, promotes and funds each part.
Measure
Track attendance by event, partner referral, first-time attendance and return elsewhere in the season. Compare ticket income and partner funding with rights, staff and activity costs. Ask whether the local activity helped someone choose a film.
Watch out for
No published admissions, audience crossover, subsidy-per-attendee or return result was found in the inspected page. Do not claim that a walk converted participants into ticket buyers, or that every film is suitable for children.
Operator and timing
Peacock Cinema at Carnegie Hall, Dunfermline (Fife, Scotland), programmed through OnFife. Autumn 2026 programme; the highlighted Halloween activities were advertised for 30 October to 1 November 2026. They are described here as advertised activities, not as confirmed delivery. Sources reviewed 2 November 2026.
About the source
The OnFife programme page is the operator partner’s own listing. It does not show a publication date. It establishes the advertised programme, partners and ticket prices, not attendance or results.
Resources
A programming partner, a manageable audience vote, rights clearance, an activity host and a shared promotion plan.
