Vary a future visit reward across screening times
An overnight event offered different rewards for a later transaction. The useful test is whether the incentive changes attendance and subsequent contribution.
Published 30 October 2026
The idea
Use a future-visit incentive to test demand for different sessions, and measure both the first booking and the reward’s later cost.
Evidence
GSC’s Scarefest page lists four overnight sessions at LaLaport BBCC priced at RM29 or RM39. Eligible Rewards members receive a Buy 3 Free 1, Buy 2 Free 1 or Buy 1 Free 1 ticket voucher, with the stronger reward attached to later sessions. The voucher applies to the next eligible transaction and is credited within seven working days, subject to processing. Format and merchandise also vary across sessions.
Operator takeaway
A later reward can connect an event to another booking. It also creates a future discount cost, so the first event’s ticket sales are only part of the commercial assessment.
Try this
Choose comparable sessions and state the reward, issue timing, redemption period, exclusions and membership conditions before purchase. Keep other differences small, or record them so the comparison can be interpreted. Model the cost at several redemption rates and define which sessions accept the voucher. Keep the bookings ordinary customers would have made anyway in view when judging additional demand.
Measure
Track session sell-through, voucher issuance and redemption, time to next booking, net contribution across both transactions and displacement of full-price visits. Compare with a suitable baseline.
Watch out for
No sales or redemption results are published. Different formats and merchandise mean this is not a controlled demonstration of the voucher’s effect. The cited page does not set out a complete voucher redemption window. This is a past offer, so check current terms before considering any comparable promotion.
