Plan accessibility across the whole cinema visit

Combine access information, a plain-language introduction, less advertising and an interval. Check how the elements work together for visitors.

Operator Briefing

The idea

Treat the arrival, welcome, pre-show and screening as parts of the same accessible visit.

Evidence

StädteRegion Aachen advertises a €5 screening of Wochenend-Rebellen at Cineplex Alsdorf on 7 November. It lists step-free entry, wheelchair places, accessible toilets and the GRETA app, plus an introduction in simple language, very little advertising and a short interval. Tickets are advertised online and at the cinema.

Operator takeaway

Several modest operational choices can be designed together. The detail is useful because it tells visitors more than a broad claim that a screening is accessible.

Try this

Walk through a proposed event with local access partners. Publish a pre-visit guide, a simple running order and a contact for questions. Confirm the actual film assets and the support needed for any access app. Rehearse the introduction and interval, and explain whether normal trailers or adverts will run.

Measure

Record access requests and what was delivered, arrival and booking difficulties, use of the interval and optional visitor feedback. Compare staffing and other delivery costs with an ordinary screening. Review whether visitors would return.

Watch out for

There are no event outcomes yet. Do not promise every access need is met or that GRETA works for every title and device. The announcement’s app reference is not evidence that every attendee has successfully used it.

Operator and timing
