Pair film purchases before releasing a reward
GSC linked eligible purchases for two films on the same Rewards account before issuing a twin-poster voucher. The 1–4 October purchase window is closed; fulfilment follows verification and the mechanism measures purchases, not completed visits.

The idea
A reward released only after a complementary purchase can test whether customers complete a planned sequence rather than responding to an immediate giveaway.
Evidence
A logged-in GSC Rewards member needed an eligible Doomsday purchase in Infinity Vision and an Endgame Encore purchase on the same account within the stated rules. The poster-set quantity was the lower eligible ticket count across the two films. A voucher follows verification within five working days and staff redeem it at collection.
Operator takeaway
The transferable value is the operating mechanism, not an assumed result. Test it against a clear baseline and full delivery cost.
Try this
Choose two genuinely complementary programmes, state the qualifying sequence and lower-of-two quantity rule, then compare completion and refunds with a matched group not offered the reward.
Measure
Paired-purchase completion; Refunds; Reward cost; Fulfilment failure; Incremental contribution.
Watch out for
Incremental purchases, reward cost and fulfilment failures are not published. Qualification is based on valid purchases, not verified attendance.
Operator, market and timing
GSC, Malaysia. Qualifying purchases ran from noon on 1 October to 23:59 on 4 October 2026. The purchase promotion had closed when reviewed on 5 October; collection follows later.
What the initiative does
A logged-in GSC Rewards member needed an eligible Doomsday purchase in Infinity Vision and an Endgame Encore purchase on the same account within the stated rules. The poster-set quantity was the lower eligible ticket count across the two films. A voucher follows verification within five working days and staff redeem it at collection.
Why it may matter to an operator
A reward released only after a complementary purchase can test whether customers complete a planned sequence rather than responding to an immediate giveaway.
Terms, eligibility and restrictions
Eligible showtimes and formats differ by film. Cancelled, refunded or invalid purchases do not qualify; availability and collection conditions apply. This is separate from December first-screening promotions and does not prove two completed visits.
What is known and what remains unknown
Incremental purchases, reward cost and fulfilment failures are not published. Qualification is based on valid purchases, not verified attendance.
A practical adaptation or test (CIA suggestion)
Choose two genuinely complementary programmes, state the qualifying sequence and lower-of-two quantity rule, then compare completion and refunds with a matched group not offered the reward.
Resources and commercial or operational risks
Account-level matching, verification, voucher issuance, physical stock and staff-controlled collection. Risk: customer confusion between purchase and attendance conditions.
What to measure
Paired-purchase completion; Refunds; Reward cost; Fulfilment failure; Incremental contribution.
